Finding Contentment in Cookies

One of Eliana's all time favorite books is Cookies: Bite-Size Life Lessons by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. (Actually, this is the first Cookie book in a series and she loves them all.) It has all sorts of fabulous vocabulary words and sweet illustrations by Jane Dyer.

One of her favorite pages says: CONTENT means sitting on the steps just you, me, and a couple of cookies.

So, when Jesse took Diego to work with him this afternoon and a little heart was broken in the process, I had an idea of what might mend it.

We made cookie bars instead (I always think this is going to make the baking process shorter. It does indeed make baking less labor intensive, but they took forever to bake.

Anyone else in the cookie dough camp? My house is divided on the subject. (Shh... don't tell Jesse!)

Apparently sitting on the steps should take place during a cooler month or at least when there is some shade on the house. We took the picture and went back inside. I guess contentment in Eliana and my world involves air-conditioning!

Have a Marvelous Monday!

Yum! I would be content to sit and eat cookies with you, too!
