Isaiah 58:6

This morning, Diego and Eliana learned who Joseph Kony is. They're determined to tell other people know about him so he can be brought to justice. Do you know yet?

If you haven't yet, please take the time to watch this 30 minute video. And then prayerfully consider how God would have you respond. Even if it's not by supporting Invisible Children... there are other ways to help! Blessings!

Four

My little girl turned four the end of February.

She completely amazes me.

The shy little girl is beginning to break out of her shell...

and slowly put herself out there.

Today, following her little brother's cue, she befriended an elderly gentleman as we waited for Diego to finish getting his hair cut.

She's a determined little thing, who's not easily swayed from her opinion once she's settled upon it.

She would like this next baby to be a girl.

But is not so sure she wants to share her room.

Can't the baby just stay with Jesse and my room for all eternity if it's a girl?

She loves everything princess, and purple, and I catch her dancing when no ones looking: pirouettes around the living room- not the crazy disjointed break dancing her older brother has shown her.

She grows more independent: wanting to pour her own syrup, choose her own clothes, argue with her older brother instead of blindly following him on everything he wants to do.

She's terrifically clumsy (like her mama)... falls off her chair at least three times a week; bumps into walls and corners; trips over her own two feet.

But bravely offers to help her papi as he works on our two-story roof (unlike her mama).

She sings like a little lark... I love our bedtime routine that always includes a song or two.

She insists that I say her name wrong: "It's Eli-Na-na, not Eliana!" "But I named you Eliana." "Well, you were wrong. I'm Eli-Na-na."

She loves Jesus... "I love Jesus more than you," she tells me. I can live with that!

Thank you, Jesus, for our little girl! Help us to grow her into a godly woman. May she learn to trust completely in your love and find refuge in your grace. Give us the wisdom and patience to do a good job and help us to point her to you even when we fail so that she will be able to do the same! Amen!

Little Memories

My momma and daddy returned from a week away late Friday night... because we missed them so, we decided to spend a good portion of the day with them on Saturday.

Momma and I spent a good deal of time in the kitchen. Making an old recipe (one that's been in the family for generations) and a new recipe (that's to be a new family favorite). We talked and laughed and shared our hearts.

 (The Old- Cheddar Applebutter Cookies)

I loved that time. It brought back little memories of when my mom and I would work in the kitchen when I was a child.

My kids wandered in and out "helping" here and there... making messes. Making more work. But making little memories of their own.

(The New- Almond-Raspberry Shortbread Thumbprints)

All too soon, they will be grown and will really help in the kitchen. And we will make our new recipe (that will then be old) and discover new recipes to add to our repertoire. And will talk and laugh and share our hearts... and remember little memories shared in the kitchen years before.

Ten on Ten

Minus one (because I'm click-happy pregnancy-brained tonight and erased my handsome chauffer of a husband's picture before I got it downloaded). Boo.

Enjoying looking through yesterday's sono pics... today I'm exactly 11 weeks along!

Candy shopping for birthday and valentine parties.

Hobby Lobby Yarn... so many beautiful colors.

 Lunch

The cyclamen my momma bought for Eliana and me. I'm afraid I'm killing it- leaves keep turning yellow.  Am I watering too much or too little? Help!

About the only way I can get this girl to nap is to lay down with her... it's a sacrifice I'm glad to make.

Paperwhites, I get... I drown 'em and they do wonderfully. I always love watching them grow so super fast.

More Valentine's Day prep!

An etsy package full of fabric. :) I'm going to try to sew again sometime soon!

Hope your days been lovely!

Linking up here-

Go check out all the other 10 on 10's... they probably actually have 10 in their sets! *sigh*

16 days

It's been sixteen days since my last confession er, um blog post. So, to give you a taste of life around here:

We now have a horse trailer. No we don't own horses and yes, we do live in the city. Don't ask.

This poor little guy has been to the doctor for sinus infection finished the meds for that and now has a cold.

I've been tired; still can't sleep. Usually wake inbetween 2 and 4 and am awake for hours. So, the house is lacking the attention it desperately needs. I was going to take a picture to show you just how bad the house is, but apparently, I'm going to show you how low my energy level is instead. I just realized I forgot to take the picture and I'm too tired to do it now. :P

Watched this episode of Jamie Oliver's a few days ago and now I'm contemplating the idea of never eating ground beef again.

I'm so making these for Valentine's Day breakfast this year... because they're going to be super easy with the canned refrigerated dough. And this year super easy is what counts!

My husband is busy pulling down the asphalt shingling that has covered our house since the 1930's! And underneath? This beautiful lap-board siding! We're absolutely thrilled with it's condition too... so far!

My parent's gave my kiddos Valentine-making supplies... totally great idea! So, they've been busy creating today.

What have you been up to?

He First Found His Own Brother

This little guy already has a heart for the gospel. For Christ. For sharing the gospel of Christ with others. He's bold. He has a passion that in untamed by fear of rejection or ridicule and will tell anyone who will listen about Christ.

Jesse and I talk about how much he talks sometimes... it does seem to be never ending. But, much of his talk is about Christ. His passion reminds me of Andrew. He doesn't wait until he knows everything about Christ... he waits long enough to realize who Christ is and then he's off to tell his brother.

I want to be like that when I grow up!
